The recipes on this page are a compilation of ideas from sufferers and parents of those suffering with EGID and/or multiple food allergies.  If you know of any recipes that you would feel benficial to the group, e-mail them to us at webmaster@fabed.co.uk .  The legend to allergens is as follows:

WF (Wheat Free), DF (Dairy Free), GF (Gluten Free), SF (Soya Free), EF (Egg Free), NF (Nut Free), others as per recipe.

 FISH CAKES (makes 8-10) (WF DF GF SF EF)

  • 6 Medium Potatoes
  • 9oz cod fillet(of any white fish) chopped into small pieces & flaked
  • 1 Medium onion
  • 1tsp black pepper
  • 1tsp salt
  • 1Tbsp of any herb of choice
  • Oil to fry
  1. Boil potatoes until soft, peel and mash.
  2. Wash fish, remove any bones and squeeze out excess water.
  3. Add onion, pepper, salt and herbs and mix well.
  4. Heat oil in large frying pan until almost smoking.
  5. Press 2 Tbsp of mixture into a cake shape.
  6. Fry until golden (approx 10 mins)
JO's BANANA FAIRY CAKES (GF WF DF SF EF NF)
  • c3oz doves wheat/gluten free flour
  • 3 1/2oz mashed banana
  • 3 Tbsp sunflower oil
  • 3oz sugar
  1. Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl
  2. divide equally into cake cases
  3. Bake for 10-15 mins @ 170oC, 325oF, Gas Mark 3
