An Egid diagnosis can mean a really restricted diet (if you can still eat food at all), so I've started this thread for general recommendations of favourite recipes/books/websites.

Some terms:
Top 8 allergies: The most common food allergens: milk, eggs, wheat, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, shellfish.
MEWS diet: A diet excluding milk, eggs, wheat and soy which is sometimes recommend for egid.
FODMAP diet: This was developed in Australia as a treatment for IBS and other gut disorders and is starting to be used over here. FODMAPs are short-chain carbohydrates, like fructose and lactose, so a low FODMAP diet excludes foods with lots of them, including many fruits, onion and garlic, wheat, and honey. is the centre in the UK.
Vegan: A vegan diet excludes all animal products (e.g. meat, fish, eggs, dairy etc.), so vegan recipe sites can often be good for allergy friendly cooking- especially if you search 'gluten free' as well. If you're MEWS and eat meat you can replace tofu with chicken etc. in many recipes.
Paleo diet: This is supposed to mimic the diet of our caveman pre-agricultural revolution ancestors, so paleo recipes exclude dairy, cereal grains, legumes, potatoes, refined sugars and processed foods. The recipes generally focus on meat and vegetables, so can be worth looking at for some restricted diets.

I post recipes I try to and use pinterest to store recipes I might get around to at some point.
Here is a list of sites I've come across to get started:

- low FODMAP, many of her recipes are vegan and gluten free (or can be adapted e.g. using gf pasta), and some are soy free as well.

- lots of yummy gluten free, vegan and (though they're not labled) soy free recipes.

- really yummy vegan, gluten free, often soya free recipes (including holiday themes and well known chocolate bars!).

- for some yummy sweet things (vegan, some are g/f and/or soy free).

- a lot of south Asian recipes are naturally wheat and soya free.

- lots of recipes and quite easy to filter.

- again, plenty of vegan, gluten free and some soy free.

- if you search 'gluten free'. (There's a soy and gluten free
choritzo which I think would be great in a socca bread wrap.)

- these recipes are designed to be simple with hardly any processed foods, so it should be easier to adapt them to specific diets.

If you look at websites for companies like Cauldron, Dietary Specials, Alpro and so on they often have recipe pages too.
